Our Restoration & Maintenance Services
striping old finish
We can strip the current finish off your deck to reveal the original timber beneath, ready to apply a fresh seal of oil. We have had many happy clients who are surprised with how good their decks look after this treatment! There are many benefits to this approach including: It is not as harsh as sanding, you don't end up with defects from the large commercial drum sanders, and the chemical treatments brightens the appearance of the decking boards. This will bring old sad looking decks back to life!
deck oiling
It's amazing what a fresh coat of oil can do to the appearance of timber. We love the Intergrain range of deck oils as they are made for Australian conditions, are water based, and lasts 3 x longer than traditional oil based products.
Deck Painting
Painting your deck can be a great option if you are after something that is low cost to get done, is low maintenance and is easy to clean. We like using Cabot's Deck and Exterior Paint.
Unlike oil, paint can be applied on a surface that has a previous coating that isn't in great shape. This means you don't have to get the previous finish sanded off, giving you a significant cost savings.
deck repairs
Sometimes there are a few decking boards that have perished more than the others and need replacing. We can pull up the old boards and replace them with new ones before oiling/painting. We can also punch down protruding nails and pop a screw in any boards that have popped up. We do not do any structural repairs such as replacing a joist, replacing balustrade, or repairing stairs, as we leave this to the construction experts - carpenters/builders! Sadly we can't be a specialist in all things, and whilst we are the experts in deck finishes, we are more than happy to suggest a carpenter/builder if we can, who you can contact to discuss any structural repairs.
Early Learning Facilities
We have a number of Early Learning Facilities that we work with to provide annual timber oiling maintenance. Many child care facilities connect children with the natural world by incorporating timber into their play areas. These items require regular maintenance coats of oil to stay looking great.
